Sambar

Ingredients
Tur dal 100 gms
Melam Sambar Powder 3 tbsp. level
Drumstick 50 gms
Lady's finger 50 gms
Ashgourd 50 gms
Onions 50 gms
Potatoes 50 gms
Tamarind size of a lime
Salt to taste
To temper
Mustard seeds a few
Curry leaves a few
Whole red chilly 2 Nos
Oil 5 ml ( 1tb.sp.)

Method of Preparation
Cook turdal. Clean and cut Vegetables and cook with the dal. Soak tamarind in water and take out the pulp. Dissolve sambar masala in little water and add to the cooked vegetables. Add tamarind pulp, salt and bring to boil. If more hot taste is required 2 to 3 green chillies can be added. Heat oil and add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add curry leaves and broken red chillies. Pour over the sambar. Taste for seasoning.
